Americans expect nation’s deep political divisions to persist

On the eve of Donald Trump’s inauguration, the public sees a country deeply fractured along partisan lines. Fully 86% describe the U.S. as more politically divided than in the past, and just 24% expect divisions to lessen in the next five years.
Trump, Clinton voters divided in their main source for election news

Americans who say they voted for Trump in the general election relied heavily on Fox News as their main source of election news leading up to the 2016 election, whereas Clinton voters named an array of different sources, with no one source named by more than one-in-five of her supporters.
